Though I have been a lucky bugger and have done a fair amount of travel journalism. Stand-out trips include riding a Royal Enfield motorbike from the foothills of the Himalayas to reputedly the world’s highest inhabited village, a sojourn in Trancoso and Caraiva in Bahia, northern Brazil and Boston and Cape Cod with my daughter. But I love wherever I go, whether it’s a weekend in the UK or Spain to something more exotic. It’s more about having a curious attitude and an enquiring mind than a checklist, after all…
